First  Steps  Toward  Faith

THE PEOPLE’S COMMUNITY BAPTIST CHURCH (TPCBC)

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Dear Church Family & Friends:

TPCBC is developing a Children’s Ministry!  With your prayers and support, we look forward to launching the Children’s Ministry in the spring of 2007.  It will include a revitalized nursery (with cribs, rocking chairs, and a private nursing area) and reorganized preschool, primary, and elementary classrooms.   We will minister to our children during the 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services.   The Children’s Ministry will be designed to help children take their first steps toward faith through discipleship, evangelism, fellowship, ministry, and worship.

Church School for the children will start at 10:00 a.m.  Various Christian Education teaching techniques will be utilized:  Bible study, music and dance, arts and crafts, DVDs and videos, games, puzzles, and other activities.  Generally, on 4th Sundays, the children will join the congregation for a portion of the 11:00 a.m. worship service.

Until these plans are finalized and fully implemented, we will have an Interim Children’s Ministry that embodies several of the planned components.  Beginning Sunday, February 11th, our children will be received in the following classrooms during the 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services:  Preschool (up to age 4), Room 101; Primary (kindergarten to Grade 2), Room 104-B; and Elementary (Grades 3-5) Room 104-A.  Nutritious snacks will be served from 9:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. in each classroom.

Thank you for taking a moment to review the attached form and to identify a Children’s Ministry Team on which you would be willing to serve (for example, hospitality, music, or teaching).  Building a foundation for faith for our children involves a sincere commitment by church parents, teachers, leaders and members.  Parents and guardians, please use the reverse side of the attached form to tell us the ages and grades of your children (up to 11 years old or Grade 5).   This information will help us in ministry planning and budgeting, so that we will be better able to provide sufficient staff and resources for the number of students anticipated in the Children’s Ministry.

Thank you.
