1 Thessalonians
5:18 (NIV)

"...give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Dr. Haywood Andre' Robinson, III

As a pastor, visionary leader, teacher, preacher, counselor, musician, vocalist, husband, father, conference speaker, seminary facilitator, missionary and evangelist, Dr. Haywood Andre' Robinson, III, continually has distinguished himself as a highly gifted and anointed man of God.

A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Dr. Robinson is the son of the late Dr. Haywood Robinson, Jr., former Pastor of the Diamond Hill Baptist Church, who was a renowned religious figure, civil rights leader and community activist in the Lynchburg community for more than 35 years.  Dr. Robinson and his wife of 21 years, Renee' M. (Jones) Robinson, have three children:  Haywood Andre' Robinson, IV; Jacqueline D'Shea Robinson, and Jordan Alexander Robinson.

On October 14, 2004, Dr. Robinson was appointed Pastor by the congregation of The People's Community Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland.  He began his tenure on February 6, 2005, as the second Pastor of this church, succeeding the Late Founder, Reverend Dr. T.J. Baltimore.

Prior to assuming the leadership of The People's Community Baptist Church, Pastor Robinson served as Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Baltimore for 16 years.  During this time, he made a substantial and enduring impact upon the mission and ministry of Calvary, imbuing its members with his vision, foresight and determination.  Under his inspired leadership, the congregation and annual budget grew, quintupling in size.

The breadth of Dr. Robinson's ministry extends beyond local church walls, both locally, nationally and internationally.  Current and past relationships include:

  • Board of Directors, Good News Jail and Prison Ministry;
  • First Vice President, Baptist Ministers Conference of Baltimore and vicinity;

  • Statistician, United Baptist Missionary Convention;
  • Chaplain, National Hampton Alumni Association;
  • Board of Directors, Associated Black Charities (State of MD);
  • President, American Baptist Missions Center, Baltimore Board of Directors, Washington Bible College/Capital Bible Seminary;
  • Interim President, United Baptist College and Seminary.
  • Advisor to local college student ministries as part of the Campus Crusade for Christ.

Dr. Robinson has witnessed for Christ and preached the gospel in many places across the United States, and abroad in the nations of Ghana, Sudan, Uganda, Kenya and India.

Dr. Haywood Robinson, III, received his undergraduate education at Hampton University, Hampton, Virginia, where he majored in Music Education, and in 1985 he obtained a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Theology from Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, Maryland.  From there, Dr. Robinson proceeded to Howard University School of Divinity, Washington, DC, where he received his Doctor of Ministry with a concentration in Christian Education, in 1988.

Beyond Pastor Robinson's many accomplishments, perhaps his greatest attributes are his loving spirit, warmth and compassion.  He renders pastoral care and counseling with a sensitive, personal touch and leads the congregation with kindness, thoughtfulness and humility.  Dr. Robinson sees and diligently seeks to nurture the best in all church members and strives to help them to fulfill God's plan for their lives.  He believes that "every member is a minister" and that evangelism ought to be the way of life for every Christian disciple.  At the same time, Dr. Robinson believes that a pastor must take the time to observe and know his congregation, in order to discern where individual members are in their Christian journey.  In his words:  "To lead the sheep, you must read the sheep, and then you will know how to feed the sheep."   May God continue to shine His anointing light on Dr. Haywood A. Robinson, III.
